Where To Find Work

While finding the perfect piece of Springfield Missouri real estate may seem like a hard enough job, but finding the right work to enable you to make payments can be even tougher! Unless you are a former Hamilton Ontario lawyer retiring to our city or independently wealthy, you probably need to work for a few years in order to pay the bills.

The great news is, Springfield has a lot going for it in the employment area. It's been ranked high on lists from Forbes magazine and others when it comes to job creation and a young feel. That means there are opportunities here even if you want to start your own business, expanding on ideas you came across in Edmonton. Lipodissolve services, spas, and a number of other youth oriented companies can thrive here.

But what if you are not the entrepreneurial type? Where can you start your search? Here are a few ideas based on the different sectors represented in Springfield.

Government

Interested in cerebral work, or that in a public capacity? As a county seat, there are plenty of government level jobs to be found in Springfield. In fact, this is the largest employment sector in the city. If you have a degree and are looking for some unusual and meaningful work in any number of public departments, this area may be worth looking into.

Health services

The second largest industry in terms of employment in the city is health. Jobs here run the full gamut from nursing and physicians to lab technicians. Dentists, paramedics, therapists and countless others are also in high demand here. So if you like to work with X-ray machines (safely shielded by products made from lead), castings for a two year old's broken arm, or taking care of the elderly, there may be something for you here.

Manufacturing

Low costs means that Springfield is one of the few manufacturing havens left in the United States. The sector makes up almost 10% of the job market in Springfield. There are plants operated by companies such as 3M, Kraft, and Solo Cup. You can find small work, such as applying heatshrink sleeving to wiring systems within keyboards, as well as larger tasks.

Because of the reputation of Springfield as a place to go for plants, the manufacturing industry has also created several spin off industries in order to supply it. A strapping machine manufacturer, for example, may send a rep to the area to let them know about their latest packing solutions.

All in all, searching for work in Springfield isn't quite as hard as it can be in other cities in the United States. There is a wide range of work available here, you just have to get started on the right path!
